Parent Teacher Organization for Exceptional Children (PTOEC)

Our mission... is to provide planned recreational activities, socialization opportunities, and instructional opportunities for intellectually impaired individuals in the Metro-East area without regard to sex, race, religion, or national origin. As a part of its mission, the organization strives to provide worthwhile information and programming for parents as well as to increase community awareness, not only to the needs of the handicapped, but positive awareness of their strengths, attributes, and dignity.

New programs...

Junior Fun Nights

Can't wait for High School to attend the PTOEC Senior Fun Nights?  Now, you may not have to.  Members and those interested in becoming a PTOEC member between 5 and 13 years old are welcome to participate in our new Junior Fun Nights!

The first Junior Fun Night will be Saturday, June 1st from 6:30 to 9:00 PM in the World Class Gymnastics recreation gym at the Belleville Sportsplex.

Fitness Classes

Fitness classes are forming now!  Classes will be twice per week at the Belleville Sportsplex.  The exercises will be familiar; jumping jack, crunches, curls, running - and all activities can be modified.  Class will be lead by an experienced fitness trainer.  The cost is $5 per family per class and please bring a mat and 3 to 5 pound weights.  Parents and care givers are welcome to participate.

Provide your contact information to Ann Lee @ arjlee@sbcglobal.net and specify the day and time that would work best.  The one hour class will be held during the time slot the majority of people can attend.  Options are Monday through Thursday at 4, 5, 6, or 7:00 PM,      

Golf and Bowling!

Golf and bowling seasons are preparing to start. The details are located under the Athletics tab in the Golf and Bowling sections.

      Summer
        Camp!

June is approaching so it must be time for the PTOEC Summer Camp!  This year's camp will be June 3rd through June 21st.  

Many fun activities and field trips throughout the area.
