Track and Field - Area 12 Meet

The Area 12 Track and Field competition was held this past weekend at SIU-Edwardsville and like today, the weather was terrible.   For a while it seemed the weather would clear and and they did start some of the races.  Two of our athletes got to compete in the 100 M Run and both won 1st place.  Congratulations to Cari Klaus and Louise Noe! 
It then started raining harder and the rest of the events were canceled.  A drawing was held to see which athletes will compete at the state level.   The following lucky athletes are:
 
Tyler Hill – 25 M assisted walk and 50 M assisted run
Cari Klaus – 200 M run
Heather McKenney – 200 M run and tennis ball throw
Caleb Caines – 200 M run and 100 M run
Connor Layeski – 200 M run
Ashley Johnston – 400 M walk and softball throw
Sarah Heizer – 800 M walk
Joey Kraus – 100 M run
Jordan Kohlmeier – 100 M run
Walter Bodie – standing long jump
Nicholas Wilhelm – standing long jump
Jamie Lee – standing long jump and softball throw
Nicole Lokken – standing long jump
Gina White – standing long jump
